I’m late with this post because I’ve been gone all morning. It’s just afternoon in my neck of the woods and I’m just arriving home…
This morning we are supposed to (according to Early to Rise) change our attitude about our early morning quiet time. I know what Andy is talking about.
I’m specifically getting up earlier so I can have some me time before my daughter is stuck to me like glue. She’s not clingy in the sense of being afraid of others or unwilling to spend time with others but where mommy is there she wants to be too. If she hears me milling around in the morning it brings her out of her slumber. And if I want to exercise (which I didn’t get this morning), whoowee I can forget it.
But I need to have a different attitude about this. Don’t I love my child fiercely? I need to find a treasure in the moments she wants to rise early with me. They are small for such a short time and truly soon she will tire of this early rising and adjust to her own rhythm.
As Emily Barnes says in Keep it Simple, Loving children makes for loving children.

How’s your morning?
Have a great day!
